I always thought Paris would have no hold over me. It always seemed like a beautiful place but it never had much power in my imagination. But given my close proximity and a willing travel partner, I boarded a Eurostar train bound for The City of Light…
The following four days were a blur of walking, eating, drinking, photography, and falling head-over-heels in love with France. Here are my adventures…
Musée du Louvre
I’ve never been in a museum like this before. Even the massive and opulent exterior betrays the true immensity of the Louvre. It’s so large that it took nearly an hour just to find my favorite work of art, the real reason I came: The Winged Victory of Samothrace.
Paris at Night
The city is so alive at night. Not in a loud way, but in a human way. Cafes and restaurants are filled with friends and lovers laughing, kissing, drinking, reading, and being content. The biggest difference between London and Paris is not the most obvious. It’s that in Paris, people are allowed to stop and watch the city go by for hours and no one seems to care.
